CoreWeave Partners with Edged to Host New Supercomputer in Barcelona, Spain

Edged founder Jakob Carnemark sits down with CoreWeave GM Mike Mattacola to discuss why our Barcelona data center was the perfect home

CoreWeave
, the AI Hyperscaler™, is partnering with Edged data centers and MERLIN Properties to host one of the first large-scale NVIDIA Hopper training and inference supercomputers in Spain at the new ultra-efficient data center in Barcelona. The 22 MW facility is designed to deliver cutting-edge AI compute power while maintaining a 1.15 PUE, operating with 100% renewable power, and consuming zero water for cooling—saving over 438 million liters annually.

Key highlights of the partnership include:

  • 15 MW Lease and GPU Deployment: CoreWeave will deploy 10,224 NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs with InfiniBand connectivity, with plans to expand to a Blackwell supercomputer in 2026.
  • EU AI Capacity: The new supercomputer provides Europe with thousands of NVIDIA Hopper GPUs to develop and deploy next‑generation AI models and agents, fully powered by renewable energy.
  • $2.2 B European Investment: In 2024, CoreWeave announced a $2.2 billion commitment to expand its AI cloud and high‑compute capacity across continental Europe.
  • Continued Expansion: The partnership with CoreWeave aims to significantly expand this computing capacity across southern Europe.

By combining the Edged sustainable infrastructure platform with CoreWeave’s AI expertise, this collaboration sets a new benchmark for high-performance, environmentally responsible compute in Europe.
